she flew my kite
with girlish insolence
on that summer beach
along suburban pathways
through long days
and lasting nights
fed line
to peck Heaven
dance the moon
and
scuttle shipwrecked clouds
she beat my heart
with her avenue eyes
fixed to mine

she didn’t have to
but
she flew my kite
